Location
The capital and main port of the island, Parikia is a lovely town that keeps its traditional charm. With small white houses, traditional windmills, beautiful seaside cafeterias and paved streets, Parikia spreads around a large port. Interesting sights to visit within the town are the Archaeological Museum and the monastery of Panagia Ekatontapiliani (literaly meaning church with the hundred doors), the protector of the island.
In close distance to Parikia, there are nice and clean beaches to swim, like Livadia, Marchello, Krios, Delfini and Krotiri. On a hill above the town, you can visit the ruins of Asklepieion and the ancient temple of Pythian Apollo. This is also a great destination for trekking from Parikia, as you get great view to the Aegean Sea from the top of this hill.
The seafront of Parikia is filled with traditional taverns, cafeterias and bars that get lively after the sunset. This small town is the centre of activities for Paros and here visitors can find all facilities and services.
