Karpathos is a small island between Crete and Rhodes, a short ferry
ride of 4 to 5 hours. A mountainous island with a peak of 1,200 m. Most of the
villages are situated on the south coast of the island. Little is known about
its ancient history, but seek and you will find remainders of old villages and
graves.
The island offers impressive landscapes, beautiful sandy beaches and charming
villages where the inhabitants practice some local customs fascinating many
ethnologists. The inhabitants of beautiful Karpathos are famed for their strong
sense of tradition. They have their own special costumes and traditional music
of which they are very proud.
