Halki is a very small rocky island with an area of 28 km2
and is part of the Dodecanese group, just 16 km east of Rhodes.
No cars are allowed on Halki, although there is a road on the island. The 250
inhabitants are occupied in agriculture, fishing and, in recent years, tourism.
There are the remains of a medieval castle, the Monastery of St John and just
one village to be found here, all within a short stroll away.
