Patmos is a small island of the Dodecanese group with rolling barren
hills and clean blue waters covering an area of 34 km2 and has a
coastline of 64 km. There are numerous bays around this barren island. The
island was well-known as a religious centre throughout the centuries.
The capital and the harbour is in the small settlement of Scala. Many private
yachts anchor here during the summer months.
The island has a mild climate and it rarely rains.
