The island Otok Rab is in the northern Adriatic between the islands of
Krk and Pag with an area 93.6 km² and a population of 9,200. The island
consists of limestone forming two elevated plains, the peaks of Kamenjak 408 m
in the northeast and Kalifront 92 m in the southwest.
The Lopar peninsula is in the northeast between Lopar Bay and Crnika Bay,
other larger bays include Supetarska Draga, Kamporska Draga, the Bay of St.
Fumia.
Rab has mild winters and hot summers, with over 2,500 hours of sunshine a
year, ranking Rab among the sunniest parts of Europe.
