The Spa
The legendary Spa has been completely rebuilt with inspired architecture and
plantings to accommodate the sophisticated traveler. In 1980, major renovation
returned the Inn to its 1920's grandeur, and the Spa, added in 1981,
attracted visitors from around the globe. Since then, the most recent additions
and renovations, began in 1999 and completed in 2000, include the expansion of
the Spa, to its 40,000 sq.ft. indoor and outdoor space, beautifully appointed,
lush landscaping making this a true European Spa. The spa's inspiring new
architecture reveals pools, baths, and treatment areas unique in the West. It is
a true spa, created in the grand European tradition and based on the benefits of
the property's thermal mineral springs.
Golf
Sonoma National at Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn
Designed by Willie Watson and Sam Whiting, the same individuals who put their
famous touch on the Olympic Course, Sonoma National, is the perfect stop for
golfers given the 177-acre private 18-hole course stretching 7,087 yards through
native oaks and redwoods, secluded by bordering vineyards. The course is
exclusive to resort guests and Sonoma Club members so tee times are
straightforward to secure. From here, wine tours, picnics, horseback riding,
balloon, and biplane rides are just a few of the highlights of the area. Rich
soil, spring flowers, seasonal fragrances, bountiful produce, fresh seafood from
the coast, and unparalleled wines of Sonoma Valley provide the essence of this
remarkable place.
