The Hotel Pazo Libunca is a unique building dating from
the beginning of the 20th century which has been painstakingly renovated to
recover its Modernist-Regionalist style, preserving all the wood,
decorative stained glass, marble and noble materials that decorate its interior
and particularly the Talavera ceramic murals created by artist Ruiz de
Luna and which highlight the historical interest of the building, together
with the artistic composition formed by the cobalt and white ceramic tiles on
the roof and the whole outside perimeter.
The hotel is surrounded by majestic and romantic gardens with adjacent
woodlands featuring hundred-year old trees, lakes and fountains, creating
intimate spots that give it an unusual charm and tranquility and resulting in a
relaxing natural environment.
But one of its greatest attractions is the etymology itself: Libunca
is the Atlantis of Galicia, the mythical buried city that the "Mouros"
were desperate to find in the famous "Terras de Trasancos".
