The area surrounding Lake Maggiore and Lake Orta is also

the opulence of the mansions and palaces surrounded by lush gardens such as the
famous Villa Taranto at Pallanza.
Piedmont region can be said to be one pretty well known to tourists and
popular as well. As other regions of Italy it offers a wide choice of how to

In the more elevated parts of Piedmont, forest products and fruit are

wheat, corn, rice, grapes, honey, and chestnuts are grown. There is a substantial tourist
industry, notably at Lago Maggiore in the northeast, and skiing is a popular
activity. There is a university at Turin.
